Where the Knowledge Comes From
Mitchell's father Roger is an MCA certified yacht surveyor. Before relocating to Mallorca, Roger ran a construction business in the UK. Mitchell followed him out and spent eight years based in Can Picafort, on the north coast of Mallorca, running the maintenance side of Roger's boat survey business.
That meant hands-on work across a wide range of vessels — refits of galleys and heads, rigging, engine servicing, and laying and replacing teak decks. Working at that level, in a professional marine environment, gave Mitchell a precision and breadth that most handymen never develop.
Back in Herne Bay, that background shows in every job he takes on. Knowledge across multiple trades is not a marketing phrase. It comes from eight years of working through problems that did not have obvious solutions, on boats that needed to go back in the water.
